• My coaching and programs build upon concepts from several disciplines of correctives, performance, and mobility. Anthroproach evolves along with my own training and knowledge. These certifications have informed my journey:

    GRIP Approach

    Foundation Training

    Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS)

    Primal Movement Patterns

    Brookbush Institute Cervical Spine

    MovNat

    RockTape Functional Movement Training (FMT)

  • As a young adult, years of bodybuilding broke down my physical and mental health. Helplessly, I turned to doctors, yoga, massage, and other modalities and found little relief. My back would go out two to four times a year, sometimes to the point of crawling to and from bed. I couldn’t lift my arms overhead for months and was told I needed at least two surgeries on both shoulders. I felt generally unwell, with no motivation to move. My physical capabilities continued to shrink along with my hope of finding relief.

Eventually, I began training with people who moved better than I did and weren’t in pain. At workshops, certifications, and mentorships across the U.S., I slowly learned that moving better was the key to feeling better. This journey deeply inspires my work with clients.

One of my biggest influences, and the man who turned my shoulder issues around with movement, was Dr. John Keefe IV. He taught me more about movement in 20 minutes than others had in 7-day courses. I trained with hundreds of patients as an exercise specialist under Dr. John and Dr. Mike VanAntwerp at ZOVA Chiropractic Rehab Center, where my approach to Movement Fitness began to take shape.

After years of studying different styles of correctives, performance, and mobility, I never became infatuated with any singular system. Although each discipline has enriched my knowledge, I enjoy combining concepts and adding creative adjustments for individual client needs. I want to move better every day. I want my clients to feel better every day. Anthroproach will continue to evolve as I gather and test new knowledge in the expansive world of human movement.

Zac King

Founder of Anthroproach

I have been obsessively studying movement for 15 years and teaching Movement Fitness for nearly a decade. The benefits of a Movement Fitness Practice continue to surprise me and my clients daily. Here’s the core knowledge I bring to my 1:1 Coaching sessions, MVMT Programs and Online Studio content:

  • Restricted mobility can quickly depress the mind and create negative outlooks on training and life. Your body shouldn’t feel like a prison.

  • Practicing mobility and working through limitations can create a more positive and optimistic outlook at any age.

  • Our bodies house a lot of tissue, which deteriorates without movement. Diversity and quality of movement are key in keeping tissues resilient.

  • Active people fall less, live longer, age better and experience less depression and anxiety.

  • Breathing is an underrated, multi-use tool, heavily backed by science. It’s not just for meditation.

  • If training doesn’t relate to your life goals, it is probably a waste of time. Functional Fitness is more than a trending hashtag.

  • People get told they can’t run, play soccer, or lift heavy stuff WAY too often.

Anyone can benefit from a Movement Fitness Practice. Five minutes a day can change your life. Let me know what you’re dealing with, and we’ll work through it together.
